Concert Bands
Buchholz High School has a long-standing tradition of excellence. At the core of the band program are the concert bands. Buchholz currently offers three concert bands (Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, and Concert Band). The Buchholz Wind Symphony is the premier ensemble of Buchholz High School, comprised of the top instrumentalists in the band program. The Symphonic Band is the second band at Buchholz high. The Symphonic is one of the few "second bands" to achieve top marks at State Concert MPA by the Florida Bandmasters Association. The Concert band is the third band at Buchholz High School. The Concert Band is one of two "third bands" to ever receive top marks at State Concert MPA by the Florida Bandmasters Association.
Jazz Ensembles
The Buchholz Band Program proudly offers three Jazz Bands. The Jazz Bands perform annual concerts, at jazz festivals, and other community events. Buchholz Jazz has a long history of success at distirct and state music performance assessment and consistently recieve top marks at local and national festivals.
Percussion Ensemble
Ensembles comprised only of percussionists. Students learn a great variety of percussion instruments and study diverse literature. The Buchholz percussion ensembles consistently earn superior ratings at District and State Assessments and have performed the FMEA Professional Development Conference, the National Sandy Feldstein Percussion Festival, the McCormick Marimba Festival at the University of South Florida and the University of Florida Percussion Festival.
Aviance Color Guard & Winter Guard
Buchholz High is home to a thriving Color Guard Program led by Director Sam Rahn. During the Fall, Aviance performs with the Golden Regiment Marching Band, showcasing skills in dance and choreography, along with flag, rifle, and sabre performances. During the second semster, Aviance performs and competes as the Buchholz Winter Guard. The Buchholz Aviance Winter Guard has a history of success earning accolades at FFCC Winter Guard State Championships (2018 - Gold), (2023 - Bronze), (2024 - Silver)
Chamber Winds
Buchholz High School is home to many chamber groups. These groups are student-led providing the opportunity to build skills in leadership, cooperation, and independence while learning challenging literature.
Chamber ensembles include: Flute Choir, Clarinet Choir, Saxophone Choir, Saxophone Quartets, Woodwind Quintet, Brass Quintet, French Horn Quartet, Trombone Quartet, Trombone Choir, and Tuba Quartet.
